NIO Updates NIO Pilot to Level 2 ADAS

Chinese electric car maker, and Tesla competitor, NIO updated their Advanced Driving Assist System (ADAS) called NIO Pilot to Level 2 (see What Are Levels?). This brings them a bit closer to what Tesla offers via a partnership with Mobileye, the same company Tesla originally used for AP1. NIO Pilot added seven new features, including:

  • Highway Pilot
  • Traffic Jam Pilot
  • Auto Lane Changing (ALC)
  • … and more
NIO Pilot Screen

Also updated is the the NIO OS to version 2.0. Version 2.0 includes an improved user experience and UI design.

Additional screen gestures have been added so functions can be completed via gestures alone. The NIO OS now also includes apps such as Baidu Maps, QQ Music in addition to NIO Radio, NIO’s online audio community.
